§ 17.91.010. Intent and purpose.

  • The purpose of this chapter is to protect the public health, safety, general welfare, and quality of life in the city. The city council finds that commercial animal breeding is not compatible with surrounding uses in any zone of the city because of the noise and odors associated therewith. In addition, the city council finds that commercial animal breeding contributes to stray animal population of the city. Furthermore, the city council finds that commercial animal breeding often contributes to unhealthy and inhumane conditions for dogs and cats within the city.
